Weekly Wrap Up

We had a great week this week! You can check out what we covered in Science in the post about sound.

In Math, we worked on comparing numbers by playing war. We also worked on ABBC patterns and explored tangrams.

Friday was Read Across America Day. This is a day where schools all across the country celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday by reading. We read several Dr. Seuss books, made hats, and did a science experiment with second grade. We read Bartholomew and the Oobleck and then made oobleck!

As a whole school, we went out in the hallway to read at the end of the day. The kindergarteners took their reading bags out and whisper read with a second grade buddy and the second graders read Dr. Seuss books to the kindergartners.

Next week, we are going to start learning about community helpers. Our letters will be v and z, and our sight words will be where, come, and how. We will be working with a nonfiction text, On the Move. We will continue working with tangrams in math.

You will see an interim report come home on Monday. This has a check of letters and sounds, sight words, counting, and number recognition. Our grading period will end March 28.

Tuesday we will have library, so please send your child's library book back with them.

:) Miss McPheron
