Math: We are continuing to work on subtraction. I was impressed on Thursday when we worked on subtracting from 10! I am hoping to get a test in sometime this week and then we will be moving on to shapes for geometry. We will be working on fluency with our math facts the rest of the year though! Keep working on those flashcards and make sure they come back every day. We do practice them here at school as well.
Reading: We worked a little with the letter L this week. Next week, we are going to start with words that have 4 sounds with blends. (stop, slap, list, clap)
Social Studies: We learned about Martin Luther King Jr. and how he wanted everyone to be treated fairly, just like we want everyone on kindergarten to be treated kindly!
Science: We are starting our sound study next week. We will be exploring with instruments and creating some instruments of our own. If you have any empty small boxes or empty tissue boxes at home, please send them in!
Start saving up your boxtops! We have another school wide contest coming. Several have sent some in this week, and I'm holding on to them until the contest starts up!
Make sure you dress your child warmly. We won't be going outside if the temperatures remain like they are, but as soon as that wind chill hits 20, we will be outside to burn off some energy at recess!
