Weekly Wrap Up

What a hot third week of kindergarten! Thanks to a parent volunteer, we got to enjoy some popsicles this afternoon.

Language Arts: This week we learned about setting. We also did our first writing prompt this week. You should have found in the folders tonight.

We also learned what it looks like to be a good listener. We read Lacey Walker, Nonstop Talker and made a listening chart. We made our own diagrams as well.

Math: We have been working on comparing numbers 0-5. We learned the vocabulary words equal and greater. Next week we will learn about less and then compare some numbers without having the groups.

Science: We are learning about physical properties of objects. We looked at a gnome and used our powers of observation to make a list of what we remembered that we saw. We made a list, and then they got to touch the gnome and add some texture words.

We are going to be using physical properties to sort. Today we sorted fruit loops by color (in the hallway because it was a few degrees cooler!)

Next week is a short week. We will have new sight words "the" and "little." We will work on identifying and writing letters O-S. We are going to continue working on comparing numbers, and also working on sort by property.
