We spent much of this week writing - which doesn't make for exciting pictures, so I don't have much to share.
In Social studies, we learned about community helpers. We voted on the community helpers we wanted to learn about. They chose teachers, doctors and vets. We did a research project as a class on vets. We read a couple nonfiction book, then wrote our own nonfiction book as a class. Those books came home today. Next week, we are going to learn about goods and services. We will also do some spring activities.
In Math, we finished our chapter on decomposing teen numbers. The class did great - the tests should have been in their folders today. We are going to start measurement next. We will be comparing the heights, lengths, weights, and capacity of different objects. We will also learn to use rulers and measure in inches.
We have started learning hunks and chunks to add another layer to our reading and writing. So far, we have learned ch, sh, and th. We have also learned or, ar, er, ir and ur. I'm starting to see these chunks in their writing, which is awesome.
The third quarter is wrapping up, and I am starting grade card assessments. These assessments are mostly given one on one with me.
