Weekly Wrap Up

We had a great week. We have been doing a lot of hands-on activities to help with our learning!

In Math, we learned to play the game bump. Students are working on counting and number recognition with this game.

We used objects to work on showing groups. First, we worked with "equal" groups, and later we worked on groups that were "more" or "greater." We have been focusing on using math vocabulary as we learn the skills.

In Science, we learned about the properties of objects. We made observations of my Travelocity gnome, then worked on sorting by colors. We used fruit loops, and got to eat then after we sorted them!

We also sorted by size, and used pasta.
We also learned about texture and sorted objects into groups, like squishy, soft, fluffy, rubbery, fuzzy and hard.
We have been working on writing numbers and letters. Today we used shaving cream as a fun way to work on number formation.

Next week, we will learn about the Constitution. We will continue working on comparing groups of objects as more, less, or equal. We are also going to be learning to use the chromebooks. In a couple weeks, we will take an online assessment called i-Ready on the chromebooks that we will use to measure growth throughout the year.

If you have any questions, please let me know!
