Weekly Wrap Up

Thanksgiving Break is here! We spent this week learning about the first Thanksgiving. We learned about the Pilgrims, the Mayflower and the Wampanoag tribe. We were able to do some activities with second grade on friday. We made bracelets that went with a story about the first Thanksgiving, and spent some fun time coloring Thanksgiving tablecloths. We also did some buddy reading as well - we read from our reading bag, and the second graders read some picture books.

In Math, we finished up our chapter on teen numbers. We made pilgrim hats to practice ordering numbers.

We also worked on counting by tens. Students got to jump over a number line on the floor to practice counting. They also made a number line counting by 10s.

We read some great Thanksgiving books this week, and wrote about where a turkey might hide. The students get to read the books we read as a class during centers.

We had a great week, and I'm looking forward to seeing you at Conference. These will take place in the kindergarten classroom. I have a pretty full schedule, so please make sure you are on time. You can wait in the hallway if you're a little early. Conferences will last around 15 minutes. Thanks so much!
:) Mrs. Steinman
