Weekly Wrap Up

Can you believe it's May?!?
We spent the week learning about insects. We started on Monday by looking at different photographs of insects to see what they noticed. Students noticed the legs and antennae. We learned that insects have three body parents and six legs and that most insects have wings and antennae.

We spent time learning about butterflies, ants, ladybugs and bees. Most insects follow the same type of life cycle - egg, larva, pupa, adult. We made hats with the butterfly life cycle.

We read a book about the ladybug life cycle, and then students had to use their own resource to order the pictures for the life cycle. They did great!
On Wednesday, we had an assembly with an illusionist, Bryan Drake. He talked about how our choices have consequences and did some really cool illusions.

Next week, we are going to study the rainforest habitat. I'm looking forward to it! We are taking our assessment on coins on Monday, and then we will be reviewing in Math the remainder of the year. We have learned all 87 sight words for kindergarten! Please be sure to check your newsletter for information about the last few weeks of school. There's a lot going on - I will do my best to help you keep track of everything.
Have a wonderful weekend!
:) Mrs. Steinman
